I shot this with 20 year old TriX film and chemicals that have been out of date for awhile, I can't believe I even got an image. I love film.
Well, I have to say I'm a little disapointed in myself. As a photographer, I really hate it when I just cannot capture with my camera the same feeling or beauty that I see with my eyes. From all the shots from yesterday this is the best, and it just doesn't compare to what I saw or what I know I'm capable of.
And here's one of Max that I like.
I processed this roll of film a couple of weeks ago, and had completely forgotten about this trip to the beach. I'm thinking it was October, and it was still surprisingly warm. I really like this photo of my mom, although she will probably hate it because her hair is messed up by the wind and her eyes are closed, but look at that amazing smile. This is who she is. Carefree, beautiful, sweet and always fun to be around. She is the can, will, and did person, while others just hope to get past can. I love you mom.
These are a few pictures I shot while commercial fishing in the Gulf of Alaska. The photos are not great (I was using disposable point and shoots back then). Top photo: Pacific Giant Squid caught neat Yakutat. Bottom Left: F/V Green Hope, the trawler I lived and worked on for a year. Bottom Right: Salmon Shark, related to the Great White. I think these photos were taken around 2001.
At first I couldn't understand why all of the public restrooms were lit by blacklight. It was so weird. I didn't want to seem like an idiot for asking, but after about the first month I asked Max, and he said it was to keep the heroin addicts from shooting up in the bathrooms.
Well, I guess it keeps the lines down at the bar.

I shot this a couple of weeks ago on my front porch. I don't have a macro lens so the quality is not the best. Something about the spider killing the bug was just really fascinating to me. At first I watched the spider entangle the bug in its web for about 15 minutes before I thought to take a photo. I guess it so interesting because it is the raw form of nature, the predator and it's prey. And how we all get caught in webs and sometimes catch others in ours.
